Premiership-winning Canterbury player Dean Pay is edging closer to signing with the Belmore club.

Nine and Seven news report Pay was interviewed on Tuesday afternoon by the Bulldogs’ board

Both networks also said stand-in coach Jim Dymock was interviewed, however, Pay is favoured to take the role.

Hasler spent six seasons at Canterbury before being axed with two years remaining on his contract.

The club has since stated the deal was non-binding and that they do not owe Hasler a payout despite announcing his extension earlier this season.

The two-time premiership coach has since sought legal advice as court action looms.
