Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has urged the NSW Waratahs to pursue Origin star Cooper Cronk.
Cronk is headed for Sydney at the end of this season and the Aussie boss reckons he’d be a great acquisition.
“He’s ultra-qualified in rugby league and played rugby in school days,” Cheika said.
“If the Waratahs are interested and he wants to play, good on them, get into it because I’ve no doubt he’d make a success of it.
“Is the Australian Rugby Union going to get involved, no, it’s for these guys to work out.”
Cronk is also being sought after from as many as six Sydney NRL clubs.
Cronk represented the Australian schoolboys rugby union side in 2000.
The 33-year-old is undecided if he will play on in 2018 or take up a full-time role with Fox Sports.
