Manly captain Daly Cherry-Evans insists his club has "moved on" from the rift with Jackson Hastings and denies the incident had any bearing on their loss to Parramatta.
The Sea Eagles were dominated 44-10 by Parramatta on Sunday. That defeat came a week after Manly were thrashed by the Wests Tigers.
Cherry-Evans, who has been fined by the club for his part in the stoush with Hastings, claims he "cleared the air" with the hooker.
"It's fine, we cleared the air straight away," he said.
"It's a shame to see so much written about it considering how quickly we moved on ... I've copped it all on the chin. I sat down with the club during the week and accepted the punishment.
"I'm not proud of what's happened but the best way I can respond is to try and play some good football."
"There was no lingering awkwardness and it certainly didn't leave it as an excuse to play poorly today. No way."
Manly have dominated headlines this season are their salary cap rort was exposed and the incident with Hastings was revealed.
The Sea Eagles have won just two of their seven NRL matches this season.
