Cooper Cronk believes his Roosters halves partner Luke Keary is ready to play State of Origin.
Keary has been dynamic for the Tricolors since returning from injury in round two, steering the club to consecutive wins.
The five-eighth scored a try and had a handle in several others in the 38-8 win over Newcastle.
Born and raised in Queensland, Keary moved to Sydney at the age of 10 and is aligned with NSW.
Origin veteran Cronk has declared the 26-year-old has the right stuff for the intertstate series.
"I don't think temperament gets bought up in Origin, you need a good temperament to handle the occasions and I think he has definitely got a good head on his shoulders," Cronk said.
"He has definitely got the skill set that could represent NSW one day."
Cronk his partnership with Keary will only get better as the NRL season goes on.
"I think there is a lot of talk about combinations and how long it takes and all of that but from my point of view it is only up to ourselves," he said.
"If you just want to take what it takes on the training field it might take 20 weeks, but if you want to put in the extra half an hour after session after session to know that I step off my right and I hold the ball in this hand, then Keary knows what I am going to do and vice-versa."
