Cooper Cronk has set a deadline for when he wants his future sorted but admits he is in no rush to make a decision.
Cronk is leaving the Melbourne Storm at the end of the 2017 NRL season but is yet to decide whether he will play on next year or retire from the sport.
The 33-year-old has committed to playing for Australia at the Rugby League World Cup in October, but nothing more had been thought about.
However, Cronk says by then a decision will be made on whether he decides to play on or hang up the boots.
“I’m not really stressed about it, I’m not fussed what I do next,” Cronk told SEN on Friday.
“I’ll get through this, Melbourne Storm is in a decent position, had a successful Origin series this year, there’s a World Cup that starts about three or four weeks after the NRL grand final.
“Hopefully I’ll be part of that and then somewhere in between, before the World Cup, I’ll make a decision.
“If you want to play football you’re a long time retired, but I’ve got to make that decision some time soon.
“But I’m not losing sleep over it.”
