Cronulla have been fined $30,000 and Manly $20,000 by the NRL for being critical of the performance of referees in their respective semi-final matches.
Coaches Shane Flanagan and Trent Barrett were scathing in their assessments post-match after calls went against the Sharks and Sea Eagles contributing to their season exits.
The NRL issued breach notices to the two clubs on Tuesday afternoon.
CEO Todd Greenberg released a statement on Monday calling for everyone to "grow up" and stop blaming match officials for losses.
The Sharks lost 15-14 to North Queensland while Manly succumbed 22-10 to Penrith.
