Troubled NRL star Corey Norman has had his drugs possession conviction overturned and has been cleared by the NRL to play in 2017.
The embattled Eel pled guilty to possessing a prohibited drug and possessing a prescribed restricted substance in July and was immediately stood down from playing.
But the 25-year-old had the conviction rubbed from his record in Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney on Thursday following a successful appeal.
An NRL spokesman confirmed the half was free to play next season.
Norman endured a testing 2016 and was suspended for eight matches and fined $20,000 in July for a number of controversies including a leaked sex tape and consorting with criminals which resulted in a police warning.
