The Fiji government is issuing two million $7 banknotes to commemorate their gold medal victory in rugby sevens at last year’s Olympics.
The banknotes are legal tender and are the only known $7 notes in circulation in any country.
A $7 Fijian banknote is worth approximately $3.35 AUD and was released on Friday.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said Fiji’s gold medal showed the country could compete with the best in the world despite its small size.
Here is the $7 bill too - just shows you how much the Fijian people care and value its rugby. Awesome. pic.twitter.com/Djey2829Rn
