Kieran Foran is weighing up a move to Newcastle after meeting with coach Nathan Brown at the weekend.
The Knights have shifted their focus to the Kiwi international after missing out on Cronulla’s Jack Bird who signed with Brisbane despite Newcastle tabling a superior offer.
The Knights have money to burn which will be boosted after finalising a termination payment to Jarrod Mullen.
"We met up on the Central Coast and had a chat," Brown told News Corp.
"But honestly, whether living in Newcastle is a genuine option for Kieran, I don't know."
The Bulldogs and Melbourne have also been linked to the Warriors half who has family in Sydney.
Foran sensationally walked out on a four-year $5 million deal with Parramatta for personal reasons last season.
