Mirjana Lucic-Baroni has defeated No.5 seed Karolina Pliskova to reach her first grand slam semi-final since 1999.
Lucic-Baroni won 6-4 3-6 6-4 less than two hours.
It is the 34-year-old’s first major semi since Wimbledon 18 years ago.
"I can't believe this is. This is crazy," she told Channel 7 after the win.
"I can't believe I'm in the semi-finals again. I feel a little bit in shock right now."
Lucic-Baroni was understandably emotional about the victory after a rocky road throughout her life and professional career.
"One day I will say a long big story about things that happened to me but I could never dream about being here again," she said.
"I know this means a lot to every player to reach a semi-final but to me this is overwhelming.
"I will never ever ever forget this day and these last couple of weeks. This has truly made my life and everything bad that happened has made it ok.”
