Des Hasler’s future is set to be decided at a Bulldogs board meeting on Tuesday.
Hasler is signed until the end of 2019 but is under immense pressure after the club failed to make the finals.
It is the first time during Halser’s six seasons at Belmore the side have missed the semis.
Assistant coach Jim Dymock is in line to replace Hasler and confirmed he would jump at the chance to coach his beloved Canterbury with whom he claimed the 1995 NRL Premiership.
"Definitely," Dymock said. "I have aspirations of being a head coach. To be head coach of a side that I've spilled blood for would be an honour for me. I'd definitely put my hand up.
"If that opportunity comes, I feel I'm ready. I've been coaching for 13 years so I think I've put the time in.”
