Nick Kyrgios’ former coach Josh Eagle says the tennis star is not even training “15 minutes a day”.
It is a startling proposition considering the 21-year-old is ranked 13 in the world.
Kyrgios’ recent woes continued on Wednesday night when he was bundled out of the second round of the Australian Open after capitulating against Andreas Seppi.
Leading by two sets to love, Kyrgios surrendered to the Italian while throwing verbal barbs at his entourage.
"The time has come in my opinion where he does need a bit more stability from a coaching setup, where he's going on the court and just working on his game. That can be just as simple as 15 minutes a day,"Â Eagle told radio station RSN927 on Thursday.

"Imagine if Nick Kyrgios worked on his tennis game 15 minutes a day.
"It sounds crazy, but that's not actually happening, and he's still 13 in the world."
"(Other players) would look at him and say 'wow, what a talent'. On the flip side they say 'imagine if he was working harder, we would not stand a chance against him'. They probably feel a little bit sorry and sad that we are constantly seeing these blowups."
The Aussie admitted post-match that his preparation was less than ideal.
"It's on mehe said. Did a couple things in the off-season that I'm probably not going to do next time. It's on me, I guess. My body's not in good enough shape. You live and you learn."
