Australian coach Darren Lehmann has taken a massive swipe at Kevin Pietersen after the Stars’ were evicted from the Big Bash League.
Pietersen struggled against the Perth Scorchers and was dismissed for five by Mitchell Johnson.
Lehmann took delight in denouncing the former English supremo.
“Time for stars to move KP on, spent too much money on him and didn't win. Don't want to listen to his excuses anymore,” Lehmann said on social media.
Pietersen has been critical of Cricket Australia throughout his BBL commentary for Channel 10, slamming selector Mark Waugh on air as well as criticising the governing body for scheduling one-day matches on the same days as the BBL.

“I guess that’s aimed at the comments Kevin Pietersen regularly dished out about selections for the Australian team and when they do take the Stars players out, not releasing them back,” Adam Gilchrist said of Lehmann’s Tweet while commentating the match.
Pietersen was the Stars’ highest run-scorer this season (268 at 38.28) with Melbourne Stars board member Damien Fleming stating Lehmann’s rant had no bearing on the 36-year-old’s future with the franchise.
“Comments from Darren Lehmann aren’t going to come into the Melbourne Stars’ (consideration) when they’re looking at their list,” Fleming said on Channel 10. “Kevin Pietersen has been a big performer in his runs. He does a lot of marketing, a lot of promotion around the Melbourne Stars and the Big Bash, so up until now I think the Melbourne Stars are very happy with the way he’s contributing.”
Pietersen has been heavily involved with marketing the game as well as providing in-depth insight into T20 and beyond.
In a world of clamped tongues, many view Pietersen’s candidness as refreshing.
