The NRL coaching carousel has claimed two more figures with Michael Maguire set to take over at Wests Tigers, as Tigers coach Ivan Cleary moves to join Penrith.
The Panthers have been angling for Cleary since they removed Anthony Griffin in August.
Wests were reluctant to let Cleary go without a top coach lined up to replace him.
Now they have landed ex-Souths coach Maguire on a three-year deal worth reportedly $2.5 million.
Maguire met Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe in New Zealand recently.
According to reports, the pair have agreed terms for the coach to join the joint-venture.
Maguire had been linked with Brisbane, but the Broncos have appointed Anthony Seibold with Wayne Bennett headed to Souths in his place.
