Manly have significantly boosted their chances for future success after signing off-contract coach Trent Barrett.
The Daily Telegraph reports Barrett has agreed to terms that will keep him on Sydney’s northern beaches until the end of 2020.
Several clubs had been chasing the 39-year-old with his signing the final piece of the puzzle manoeuvred by departing club legend Bob Fulton.
The club is set to announce his signing early next week.
Barrett took over at the start of last season in controversial circumstances after replacing Manly legend Geoff Toovey.
He endured a tough start as head coach after helping oversee the turnover of 40 players during the past two seasons.
But Manly improved greatly in 2017, finishing the season sixth and playing in their first finals campaign in three years.
Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles are hopeful of luring disgruntled Rooster Mitchell Pearce north of the bridge after the Bondi club signed Cooper Cronk.
