Manly are edging closer to luring Curtis Sironen to the Northern Beaches.
The only roadblock is both clubs deciding on a suitable payout figure with the 23-year-old Tiger signed until 2018.
It is believed Manly are prepared to pay the club to secure his release.
Sironon, the son of legendary Balmain player Paul, can play five-eighth but has spent most of his time in the backrow.
Manly are skinny on depth in the forwards having lost Jamie Buhrer, Josh Starling, Siosia Vave, Tim Moltzen, Liam Knight, Nathan Green and Blake Leary, Tom Symonds and Feleti Mateo.
Sironen endured an injury-plagued 2016 making only a handful of NRL appearances.
