Benji Marshall looks set for an NRL swansong with the 31-year-old in talks with three Sydney clubs.
Marshall’s Dragons contract was not renewed, leaving the 2005 premiership-winner without a club.
With little interest, it looked as though the former New Zealand captain would be forced to retire.
He was linked to the Melbourne Storm but his representative Mario Kartak told AAP his client was in discussions with three Sydney clubs.
"At the moment, we're in dialogue with a few NRL clubs - Melbourne's not one of them. They're all in Sydney," Kartak told AAP on Thursday.
"Obviously, when you're in dialogue with somebody and you're working out if we can and if we can't, at the moment there could be a possibility (of retirement).
"But in Benji's mind, he's playing rugby league no matter what."
