The NRL, Channel Nine and Fox Sports have reportedly broken bread and agreed on the planned May 28 restart date after COVID-19 halted the competition.
Channel 9 and Fox Sports have reached an agreement with the NRL to restart in late May.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, extensive meetings between the three helped ease differing opinions and now focus can be shifted to restructuring the 2020 season.
Nines constant attacks had reportedly angered V'landys, forcing him to bite back and provide the network with an ultimatum.
But now it seems that there is peace on all fronts, much to the relief of footy clubs and fans as V'landys met with Fox Sports boss Patrick Delany and Nine head Hugh Marks.
“The meeting was extremely amicable,” V'Landys told AAP.
“We were all united on the 28th May start. But just the competition structure we need a little more time, but we definitely announce it early next week."
Both networks had wanted different lengths for the season, which proved to be another obstacle for the NRL.
Fox Sports hoped for 22 rounds, happy for the competition to run throughout November as COVID-19 has impacted much of its content.
Whilst according to reports Nine were eager for teams to play each other only 13 more times, meaning clubs would've played against all its rivals once.
The Herald state that all three have mutually agreed on 17 rounds though that has not been confirmed.
The NRL is aiming for State of Origin to be played, reportedly at the end of the season but will firstly discuss with both NSW and Queensland state governments, RLPA and clubs before making an announcement.
