Penrith’s end to the season just got a lot worse.
Penrith five-eighth Tyrone May will miss the opening rounds of next season with a knee injury after tearing his ACL in Firday night’s 13-6 loss to Brisbane.
The Panthers confirmed on Monday that the 21-year-old will undergo surgery that will sideline him for six months.
And with teammate Matt Moylan’s future up in the air, Penrith’s halves stocks are skinny.
May excelled alongside Nathan Cleary throughout the final two months of the regular season with the pair building a solid combination.
Moylan has been heavily linked to a move to Manly due to tension with coach Anthony Griffin.
