Brisbane’s Corey Parker escaped sanction for making contact with Titans hard man Ryan James and says the reaction was “ a little over the top”.
The incident occurred in the 58th minute of Friday night’s elimination final when the two forwards faced-off while packing a scrum.
If sighted by the NRL, Parker could have played his last NRL match with the 34-year-old retiring at seasons end.
But Parker escaped sanction and says he was never worried anyway.
"I've seen some headbutts, but that was certainly not in the headbutt rule by my opinion anyway," Parker told Sky Sports.

"If anything it was like a cheek slap, like cheek-to-cheek.
"The fact that it was being thrown around over the weekend of potentially missing games was a little bit over the top I reckon, to be honest."
"He wouldn't let me in the scrum.
"I think he was concerned about getting out of the scrum, like being held in the scrum."
Brisbane teammate James Roberts has been sanctioned for appearing to kick the Gold Coast’s Ryan Simpkins.
