Roosters coach Trent Robinson is yet to grasp the correct way to discuss refereeing performances post-match.
In recent weeks Ricky Stuart, Paul Green and Paul McGregor have all copped hefty fines for their scathing attacks on the men with the whistle as the NRL calls out the mentors for “questioning” the integrity of the officials.
But how is exactly is that defined?
Even Robinson, who himself was fined last year for questioning referee Ben Cummins, is unsure of the rules.
“I don’t know whether I should be saying this but even I’m blurred on it at the moment,” Robinson said.
“Paul (McGregor) questioned the integrity, but we’ve had coaches who have questioned the decisions and there’s been no action.
“So what I’ve seen this year we can actually talk about the referees. There’s coaches who have talked about the referees a lot this year, but they’ve only been fined if they’ve questioned their integrity.”
