The 23-year-old avoided a conviction and has been placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.

The Sydney defender was arrested last month outside a Double Bay nightclub after he was caught with the illicit drug in a laneway.

Talia apologised to the football club and friends and family outside court this morning.

“I’m obviously very disappointed in my actions and I’m looking forward to learning from this experience and hopefully putting it all behind me,” he said.

Swans general manager of football Tom Harley said the club would support Talia who has been sidelined since Round 1 with a foot injury.

“As a footy club, we’re obviously disappointed to be here today in support of Michael,” he said.

“Just to deal with the facts — Michael pleaded guilty and was handed down a 12-month good behaviour bond and a non-conviction.

“From the club’s point of view, we’ve now got the facts which we stated we were keen to unearth a couple of weeks ago and will now move into the next steps.”
