The curtain has fallen on another year of Grand Slam tennis, culminating with the 2015 US Open.

In the Women's draw, Serena Williams was looking to create history by winning her fourth Grand Slam of the year and completing a calendar Grand Slam in the process. She looked odds-on to complete this historic achievement, however she was humbled in the semi-finals by Italian Roberta Vinci.

The Italian would go on to face good friend and doubles partner Flavia Pennetta in the Final. Pennetta would prevail 7-6, 6-2 to win her first Grand Slam at the ripe old age of 33 and would then sensationally retire from tennis during her post match interview.

In the Men's draw, Novak Djokovic won his third slam of the year, beating superstar Roger Federer 6–4, 5–7, 6–4, 6–4 in the final.
