UFC boss Dana White has extinguished talk of a Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather boxing bout after McGregor was issued with a Californian boxing licence on Thursday.
Talk of a McGregor v Mayweather fight had been circulating since UFC 205 when McGregor challenged the boxing champion.
Mayweather has remained relatively tight-lipped about the speculation and has taken offence to being spoken about in the same breath as the MMA star.

Pundits suggest Mayweather, who has a record of 49-0 and is retired, would wipe the floor with McGregor whose licence cost him $60 and five minutes of his time to fill in the paperwork.
Not a bad investment considering all the publicity it has generated but the fact remains McGregor is contracted to the UFC.

“It’s fun to talk about this fight and what might happen, but what commission would let that fight happen? Really, think about that,” White told Yahoo sports.
“I have no idea what Conor is doing. Conor’s Conor. He does his thing. But he’s under contract to me.”
