Yes, you’ve paid your hard-earned to get into the ground, but that doesn’t give you the right to get loose and start with the spiteful, verbal tirades if things go pear-shaped. Or does it?
On this week’s Inside Sport Dead In Goal rugby league podcast, our hosts James Smith and Jeff Centenera discuss the age-old question: how far is too far when it comes to fans critiquing their beloved footy team?
Once again we threw open the floor to hear from the people who would actually know – rugby league fans themselves. Most of which are followers of our weekly show, so it was great to get an insight from them as far as the rules to footy fandom were concerned.

And the general consensus? As long as their team is putting in 100 percent-effort, most fans are happy to ride the rollercoaster of emotion and fortune that each season presents. As for booing? Your own team? Forget it. Many fans won’t even boo the opposition, either. A lot do, though.
Anyway, sit back and take in the wisdom of the most important people in the game: the supporters.
