Tigers captain Aaron Woods is backing Mitchell Moses to fire for the Eels this weekend after being released by Wests.
Moses has been a significant distraction to the club, as has James Tedesco and Woods himself as their ongoing contract sagas were finally resolved.
Moses signed with Parramatta earlier this month for 2018 and beyond and requested an immediate release a fortnight ago which was rejected.
However, it appears the situation has become untenable with Wests releasing him on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old has been named in Brad Arthur’s side to face the Raiders on Saturday and will have his first training run with his new teammates on Wednesday.
And despite a limited preparation, Woods expects Moses to have a blinder in his first outing in the blue and gold.
"I think he will go really well there (Parramatta) this week especially because everyone has been giving him a few words in the media so he will want to shut everyone down," Woods told the Big Sports Breakfast on Wednesday.
"He played with a few tough calls - some people wouldn't agree with him some people would agree with him but it is what he wants to do.
"We all have to move on.”
