McLaren's Oscar Piastri stormed to a dominant victory in the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. The win elevated the Aussie to second in the World Drivers’ Championship, just three points behind McLaren team-mate Lando Norris. British driver Norris had a difficult weekend, qualifying a lowly sixth on the grid before receiving a time penalty in the race for a starting infringement. Norris fought back to finish third behind fellow countryman George Russell, in a continuation of the latter’s strong opening to his 2025 campaign. Australian F1 rookie Jack Doohan continues his search for his first championship points; Doohan faded in the closing stages of the race to drop out of the top 10 after a strong early showing. 14 Apr 2025

Max Verstappen and Red Bull triumphed in what could generously be described as a processional 2025 Japanese Grand Prix. The Dutch ace started from pole position, courtesy of a spectacular qualifying lap in the dying moments of a session in which he’d mostly never looked like troubling the top of the time sheets. McLaren was left to rue what could have been after both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris made errors on their final Q3 runs, leaving the door open for Verstappen to claim pole. The result leaves Lando Norris with a slender point lead in the driver standings with Aussie Piastri a further 12 points further back. 7 Apr 2025

The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix saw Oscar Piastri bounce back from a disappointing home race to claim victory at the Shanghai International Circuit. The Aussie leading home teammate Lando Norris for McLaren’s 50th 1-2 finish. George Russell secured third for Mercedes with a solid drive. Last years winner Max Verstappen could only manage a fourth-place finish, with the RB21 proving to be more of a handful than its predecessor. The race was marked by multiple post-race disqualifications. Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who had initially finished fifth and sixth respectively, as well as Alpine's Pierre Gasly were all disqualified for technical infringements. A disappointing end to Ferrari’s weekend after Lewis Hamilton earlier claimed victory in Saturday’s 19 lap Sprint race. 24 Mar 2025

Lando Norris took first blood in the 2025 World Drivers’ Championship with a well-judged drive in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. The Albert Park circuit turned on trademark Melbourne four-seasons-in-one-day weather conditions, with searing heat on Saturday giving way to cold, blustery winds and torrential rain on Sunday. The slippery conditions caught out several drivers, including Oscar Piastri late in the race, just when the Australian was looking poised to challenge his McLaren team-mate for victory in his home grand prix. 17 Mar 2025
