DEAF SPORTS: A SNAPSHOT

The next Australian Deaf Games will be held in Albury, NSW and Wodonga, Victoria from January 20-27, 2018. This is the first time the Games will be jointly hosted by two towns, as they are located close to the border of the two states.

It will have been two years since the 2016 Australian Deaf Games was hosted in Adelaide. This is a once-off due to the current Australian Deaf Games scheduling being out of step with international deaf sporting events such as the Deaflympics. The 2018 Games will provide an opportunity for selectors to send Australian representatives for relevant sports internationally, and for our athletes be guaranteed the best possible preparation.

It is anticipated that more than 1000 Deaf and hard of hearing athletes from all over Australia and neighbouring Pacific regions will participate, spanning across at least 16 sports in Albury Wodonga.
