Trent Barrett says tomorrow’s clash against the Storm is a chance for his side to redeem themselves after a woeful showing against St George-Illawarra.
Manly went into the home game on the back of three good wins over Nth Queensland, Canterbury, and the Sydney Roosters, before being annihilated by the Dragons.
The Sea Eagles were terrible at Lottoland in front of a massive crowd enthused by their three previous wins but fell 35-10.
They should have lost by a lot more.
Barrett said he expected to see a spirited performance against Melbourne.
“We have a lot of good supporters who keep turning up. (Being) Easter weekend, hopefully we can get a good crowd here (at Lottoland) and beat Melbourne,” he said.
“There is some history between the teams. Two great clubs. It will be a big day.”
Manly five-eighth Blake Green will play his 100th game in the NRL tomorrow up against his previous club Melbourne.
“The boys are pretty determined to right what went wrong last week. We were very disappointed with how we played against the Dragons, given how we have been the last month,’’ he said.
“It is a bit of a chance to redeem ourselves at home.
“This is an opportunity to play against a really good side. They are up there at the top of the competition for a reason Melbourne, and we haven’t beaten them for a while. Tomorrow is the day.
“Our forwards have got a huge job. The Dragons pack probably outperformed us last week and our players want to make up for that.”
