Des Hasler’s re-signing at Canterbury has some fans questioning the merit of the current board.
Hasler on Monday re-signed until the end of 2019 after months of conjecture surrounding his future.
The Bulldogs had won just one from their past eight matches before a spirited 10-7 win over heavyweights Brisbane on Thursday night.
The win followed a board meeting held just hours before with Hasler’s future high on the agenda.
Four-time Bulldogs premiership player Steve Mortimer famously resigned from the board after the club refused to sack the mentor at the end of last year which rocked Belmore.
And it seems some fans are filthy with Hasler’s contract extension.

“If the board won’t listen to the fans we need a new board. Simple.” said one fan on ‘The Kennel Forum’ fan site. Another read: “Got popcorn and ready to watch the meltdown.”
Canterbury chief executive Raelene Castle said securing Hasler’s future was great for the club.
"Des is a proven coach,’ she said. “His record over the years shows that and we are extremely pleased that negotiations have resulted in Des remaining at the club until the end of the 2019 season”
He has a 59 per cent winning record at the Bulldogs winning 56 from 80 games.
It is the same winning percentage he enjoyed in his eight seasons at the Sea Eagles, where he led the side to four grand finals, winning titles in 2008 and 2011.
He has led the Bulldogs to the finals in all of his five seasons at the club including two losing grand finals in 2012 and 2014.
