NSW captain Boyd Cordner has declared himself fit for Wednesday night’s Origin decider at Suncorp Stadium.
The 24-year-old hasn’t played since injuring his calf in the Blues’ 18-16 Game II loss in Sydney with the backrower carrying a significant injury cloud into camp.
But after a good hit out on Sunday, Cordner said he would take the field in Brisbane as NSW attempt to claim just their second series win in 12 years.
“I did the whole session yesterday (Sunday) and it has given me more confidence,” Cordner said on Monday.
“It’s a lot easier being in camp because you have that 24-hour access to the physios and everything that’s provided here which is handy.
“It just puts the ball back in my court. It’s been stressful mentally, but in regards to recovery and rehab and having everything there for me, it’s been unreal.”

Cordner has been inspirational in his debut series as captain and was fearful his inury might keep him out of what is being hailed as the biggest match in Origin history.
“To be honest, at the start of the week I was deadset up in the air about whether I’d be right or not. But comeWednesday and Thursday, it really took a turn,” he said.
“I was more nervous before yesterday’s training run. It was a pretty big session, so got through most of that pretty good. And then this morning it pulled up pretty good as well.
"I’ve been doing everything I can and at this stage it looks pretty good although we’ve still got a captain’s runtomorrow.”
