Foran’s one-year deal with the Warriors was approved last week with the five-eighth expected to commence his season in Round 3 should he pass a psychological test.

The 26-year-old endured a trying 2016 highlighted by a prescription drug overdose following the breakdown of his relationship with his long-term partner.

He was subsequently released from his four-year $5 million deal with the Eels on compassionate grounds.

The Manly premiership-winner has been training with New Zealand for months now and credited a move across the ditch with giving him a new lease on life.

“It’s been a breath of fresh air really, I needed it,” he said at the Warriors season launch.

“It’s great to get out of Sydney and get home around extended family and just get back to my roots and be around big love and just start afresh at a new club.

“It’s been brilliant, the boys have made me feel welcome from the get-go and I just think all Kiwis are like that.

“It’s just one big family and it’s no different at the Warriors. I’ve really enjoyed my time so far.”
