The 24-year-old failed front court on Monday to face charges of domestic violence after travelling to Fiji to be with his sick father.

Magistrate Tim Keady accepted his reasoning but said he expected more of an explanation.

Radradra will be back in court on February 13 to fight three domestic violence charges involving his former partner Perina Ting for which he has pled not guilty.

The court date is extremely close to the start of the NRL season making for another unwanted headache for the embattled Eels who endured a diabolical 2016.

It is understood that should Radradra be found guilty he will be banned for the 2017 NRL season.
