Roosters coach Trent Robinson is demanding an 80-minute performance from his troops after they fell away in the second half against the Titans last week.
Up 28-0 at half time, the Bondi club leaked 18 points in the final stanza to claim a 32-18 victory on the Gold Coast.
Robinson said his side will need to be much better against the Bulldogs tomorrow night.
“The first half was good and in the first game of the season you want to see that but the second half was poorly managed by us and needs a lot of improvement,” he said. “Two different halves for us, but, Round 1 (there were) some good signs and some things we want to improve on.
“You don’t expect to be up 28 points at half time but you want to see better going in to that second half and we didn’t get that so there is some improvement needed there.”
The Bulldogs fell 12-6 to the Storm at Belmore in wet conditions last week and failed to capitalise on at least three scoring opportunities.
Robinson said his side was wary of Canterbury’s revamped attacking style.
“It was a different style from them and we’ve got to make sure we are ready,” he said. “They have got a lot of experienced guys and lots of forwards that have played lots of games. There outside backs have played a lot of games as well with a lot of international experience there.
“We’ve got to make sure not to try and give them that advantage to get started tomorrow night. They’re happy to play second phase and change angles and are a high energy team…and we have got to make sure we are ready for that.
"They have got threat across the field and have had these players in those positions for many years so the combinations are high.”
