Remember how excited we all got for the last Presidents Cup (Oct 4-7)? It’s come around again, although this time it won’t be in Melbourne, and the build-up is somewhat lower-key. The US-vs-World team match event heads to Jack Nicklaus’ golfing sanctum, Muirfield Village in Ohio. At Royal Melbourne two years ago, the Americans defied predictions that the course would baffle them, as they reasserted the star-spangled dominance of the Cup with their seventh victory in nine contests. Suffice it to say, the plucky band of Aussie, South African, Asian and others that make up the International team really needs a win for the sake of the event. Muirfield Village was the place, back in 1987, that Europe first won a Ryder on US soil – maybe there’s something there for the Internationals and captain Nick Price, who took over the reins from Greg Norman. Fox Sports tees it up.
