The organiser of a party where Sydney Roosters star Dylan Napa is alleged to have been knocked out by a fire poker has spoken of the incident.
Napa was knocked out by a fellow party-goer on Sydney’s Northern Beaches on Sunday morning after reportedly coming to the aid of a woman.
The NRL player was said to have been asleep at the Palm Beach home but was woken by the screams of a woman.
He then allegedly saw a man destroying property and yelling at the woman and intervened which is when he was reportedly struck with the fire poker.
Host Theo Chambers released the following statement to AAP through his lawyers in regards to the Palmbu event incident.
“I would like to particularly stress that the apparent break and entry and assault which took place at my premises the day after the charity event, happened a considerable time after the event had been closed and all attendees had been cleared from the premises by licenced security,” Chambers said.

“I had also left and locked up the property for the evening. There is no information suggesting that the charity event and the break and entry and assault were in any way connected.
“As more information comes to hand, I will consider pressing charges and any other claims I may have against those responsible.”
A police spokeswoman told AAP emergency services were called to the property at 3am on Sunday.
“Two men, aged 33 and 24, and a 26-year-old woman, were treated at the scene by NSW ambulance paramedics for minor injuries,” the spokeswoman said.
Six-hundred people attended the party.
The Roosters released a brief statement stating they were aware of the incident.
Napa was last week selected in the Maroons Sate of Origin emerging squad.
