“No, not really," he said. "I don’t really view things like that. I know my skill set, and I’m comfortable in my skin and my own game.

"I trust my processes, I trust my routines and yeah, I just allow the results to take of themselves. I don’t think about pressure too much.

"At the end of the day, it’s a team sport, a team environment and we want to do well as a team and we want to win as a team or lose as a team.”

Jordan is known predominantly for his bowling, but he’s a top-class fielder and an aggressive lower-order batter. It is something that the England international is working on.

“I am trying to establish myself as a genuine all-rounder and I do enjoy my batting, I really do now," he admitted.

"I enjoy a lot of batting in the nets, and stuff, so I’ll probably end up batting a lot more than I’m bowling but I mean that’s in an effort to bring both skillsets up to par,” offered Jordan.

“At some point, I’ll be able to get in any team as a batter and a bowler.”

Jordan is not the only Englishman on the roster in Perth.  He is joined by all-rounder Liam Livingstone who plays for Lancashire in England.

Livingstone is a batting allrounder who has impressed in England’s T20 league. Having played together in England colours, Jordan is keen to be reunited with Livingstone.

“I’m looking forward to playing with Liam," he said. "Obviously, he made his England debut with me and stuff a couple of years ago and the South Africa series.

"He’s a great and top player I might add. And, the thing is, he’ll be a great asset to the team."

And when the Scorchers meet the Strikers, it will also allow Jordan to play against Sussex teammate Phil Salt who is making his BBL debut this season.

Jordan added: “I’m looking forward to playing against Phil Salt quite a lot.

"Me and him are pretty good friends, and we train a lot together and stuff, so we know each other’s game pretty well, so it will be fascinating.”
